Shove preflop seems ultra-standard.

With ante, I'd say standard, but no reads I'd rather play it small. A re-raise pre and you're committed anyway, so if that's the route, push.

Yeah, I hate being OOP and I'm not folding AQs here, so I'd probably reraise to 1500.

if the positions were reversed, and Hero had AQs in MP1,
no action yet, still a shove, or just a 3x,4xBB raise?

Well first of all I would like to say that the general concensus these days is to shove this pre... so every1 above saying a shove is super-standard is correct... personally I never shove this because I am not afraid of flops or playing people post flop... so I am fine with how you played this... and with effective stacks a re-raise is awkward and a shove is a huge overbet that is preety massively exploitable athough probably not recognizable as such by the majority of tournament players...

As for this...

If you were in MP1 with the same hand you would just open raise 600... you wouldnt shove... and no1 is likely to disagree with me on that...

pretty basic...either push pre (not bad given stacks and action) or take your line which is fine also
