Beat: Dunno how to eat a McDonald's breakfast - advice pls

So I went for breakfast in McDonald's this morning (beat, I know) and ordered their sausage patty and pancakes meal, which comes with a pot of warm maple syrup. What the [censored] am I supposed to do with this?

Ended up eating the sausage between two pancakes, then poured the syrup over the third one by itself as a kind of dessert, but someone just now told me I was meant to eat it mixed in with the meat. [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] I know they do some weird stuff with food in America, but that just sounds [censored] gross.

Anyways, I remember that someone BBV is a fast food guru, so hoping either he or one of the Americans on here can set me straight on this please?
