Default Mac itunes backup option

I bought Bandwagon yesterday and am using it to backup my iTunes collection to Amazon's S3 on-line storage site. If you are wondering about an offsite backup solution for your iTunes library and are on a Mac here are the details:

Bandwagon costs 24 bucks, I got it on a one day sale for 12.
S3 storage is .15 per gig per month with transfer costs being .16 per gig or so. No limit that I saw, free to register.
BW runs in the background and can be throttled down to 10KB/s of UL/DL bandwidth. You can choose broad categories of files to backup and then go into that queue and manually remove items if you want.

It's going to take quite some time to get the intial backup taken care of, 15GB of data takes a while to transfer at 10KB/s, but it should be fairly hands off after that.

No offense, but is bandwagon really necessary in this process?

Good question. I didn't see an interface to S3 when I was poking around. I suppose if the made a cobol compiler for OS X I could try and write a consumer of the web service...

http://jungledisk.com/

Free (not opensource) with OSX and linux support. Great option if people don't want to pay for BandWagon

That looks interesting. I'd have to play with it to see if it integrates with iTunes as well as BW looks to; syncing new stuff, restoring, etc. And of course, I've already paid for a year so I'll get right on that...

Also, BW is talking about future versions that will allow streaming your music from S3 and syncing multiple machines and stuff. But for a general on line, off site storage solution Jungle Disk looks pretty good.

Will your upload finish before your subscription runs out?
