thanks for the replies. i really could have done with extra time on this hand as it really did baffle me given i am very rarely in this type of situation.

i felt i had no fold equity by shoving, but yet felt i was just about getting odds especially if he checks behind on the turn.

as you'll see below, the turn card gave me a gutshot as well, i went all the way down on the time bar and then called. i almost all post hands where the player had a very good hands, so this could be a bit of a surprise.

i think most of the time he flips over an 8 or an overpair. these are the type of hands which makes any decision never as automatic as we'd like.

yeah, the problem with my play is a usually dont shove draws on the flop in situations like this if i dont think i have any fold equity and would fold on the turn if i check and he shoves (or he shoves turn if i am in position).

however, here the extra 4 outs, plus i thought [censored] it ill call, so i might as well have shoved the flop if im not folding on the turn anyway, as it at least i may have some fold equity vs his worst hand range whereas he i have none.

i dont think it's a massive screw up though.

i like my bet-3bet flop. he then makes a really weedy 4bet. now i looked at the size of the reraise and the pot, didnt really want to fold, but i thought i had basically no fold equity, so in these situations i usually call. however, i failed to realise that by doing so i will check-call the turn, and so if doing this on the turn i should have shoved on the flop.

when calling the flop i had planned to check-fold the turn, but then, especially given the extra 4 outs, i thought a fold/call decision was so marginal that i should call.

what would you do differently?

i think fold flop, shoving flop and my line are all pretty valid lines, but i dont think my line is too bad. just a nightmare situation with odds.

LOLOL...u played this hand soooooooooooooooooo bad. not sure what is worse, flop or turn but that is really the only question in this hand.

how did i play the turn badly? i have 2 decisions:

check or shove: i think there is a greater chance he checks behind than he folds to a shove, so i check. edit: that is not correct logic, but i basically thought there is no way he is ever folding, so i might as well check and hope he checks behind.

call his shove: if i am losing EV i think it's not much at all.

please lucid explain what i have done so badly as i genuinely cant see it. i'm not saying i haven't played it really badly, just i can't see how it's that bad given the alternatives.
