You have no way of knowing that after looking at one HU hand. If hes so bad, what did he have?

Did he bluff hero off the best hand?
Was he value betting his 99 and trying to get hero to make a hero call?

None of know, so we have no idea if hes bad or good after this one hand.

No, he looks bad, especially given your read of him being capable of 3-barreling. Almost no hands in his range make sense for him to take the line he did. Oh, and the check/minraise=EXPERT.

As I said, if hero folded the best hand then villains play isnt bad at all.

If villain had something like JJ and hero wouldve folded to a pot sized flop raise, then villains play isnt bad because he milked hero the best he could.

HU play is all about mixing up your play and confusing the other guy.
