Default Why poker and not porn?

Could someone explain to me how our govt. could pass the UIGEA and not ban pornography? Seriously, If somebody here has a good understanding of this law please tell me what I'm missing.

If our current Administration had its way, porn would've been gone a long time ago.

Porn is protected by the 5th amendment. Or maybe its the 1st amendment? One of the amendments protects it.

1/ There is a huge domestic porn industry.
2/ Probably unconstitutional.

The last thing you want to do is give them any ideas.

There are far more people who like to look at porn occasionally than there are who like to play poker, I suspect. So trying to cut porn off would probably result in a huge uproar.

Hello? Clinton tried to kill internet porn, it was declared unconstitutional, it's protected by the 1st amendment. It's free speech. They can however regulate it, which is why places have to have ID check stuff (being able to use a credit card was declared enough proof that you're 18).

Also, looking at porn probably wont cost you lots of mobnies. Unless you subscribe to like a million sites or something. And its not addicting, like gambling.

They're doing the best they can:

They go to the most conservative jurisdiction they can find, mail order porn, file federal charges against the producers.

Being the feds, they never lose.
