Where I live (Edmonton, Canada) if you walk into a casino, you get ID'd... And get asked to leave... Its not like they are going to kick the [censored] outta him for not "proving" hes 21 ^^

[/ QUOTE ]

Casinos have a tendency to not pay off if you're < 21. Spin up a JP on a slot machine, no payoff since the wager is illegal. Poker rooms have a tendency to ID up front, so your brother wouldn't be out money except for the fact that he's paying to be in AC for no reason.

[/ QUOTE ]

Won't they pay off once you prove your age? Even if you don't have ID, can't they hold the money until you can prove your age?

Well I believe it's a state law here, if not a federal law that you must posess a valid state/gov id with you at all times while in a casino.

[/ QUOTE ]

As a casino employee you can find out if you care, but no casino in Vegas I've been to requires an ID to gamble. They card if you look young, but they never check mine. I don't believe that there's a law that requires ID. It's like bars/clubs. They jam the joint up if they allow underage people.

I should clarify - this isn't our first trip to AC, we've played poker there many times and never been carded. However, there is a slight fear now that if they do card him while he's sitting at the table, what would they do?

I could have sworn we have people that work at casinos here, no?

Im a floor in CT and have never asked for ID for someones age. Neither have 95% of the other floors either. Security will but floors hardly ever. I would stay away from Slots and the waitresses may card you so just play and keep a low profile.

Do waitresses really card people who are gambling? I have never seen this.

Did your brother (not you, your brother of course) lose his ID in a home poker game to one of those underage kids?

Waitresses card people if they order drinks.

@ op Speaking from experience, they just ask you to leave but they can't take your money. If they see you again they either have security escort you out, or have you arrested. Ive also been carded by the floor and seen the floor card people so its not unusual.
