secondry monitor won\'t display

Hi, I have 2 monitors, a 17" HP and a dell 2001fp. The dell is my secondry monitor and just goes to standby mode sometimes when I first switch my comp. on. I have to just keep restarting the system until it comes on.

Anyone know what the problem is?
