Re: 2007 MLS Thread
anyone else think that Beckham looks like he's hurting, especially since the 60 min mark? I can't believe he's really going to play the English friendly and then come back for the Chivas game the next day in this condition.

Re: 2007 MLS Thread
He probably would have been subbed out around the 70min mark if:
A. they were up and B. Razic hadn't been injured. |

I agree w/ Stephen Cohen from WSD - in his current condition, it's irresponsible for Beckham to be risking further injury (and at the very least, not getting rest) in the England friendly with Germany (a game that means absolutely nothing) while the Galaxy are in desperate need of every win they can get. I know how much playing for England means for him but c'mon - it's a friendly and with all the injuries to England's side recently, it's not like McLaren can afford to leave him off the Euro 2008 qualifying side just because he skipped a friendly. Beckham desperately needs to find his fitness ASAP and trying to play 3 games in the span of 6 days (and flying from NY to London to LA to do it) isn't going to help |

Re: 2007 MLS Thread
Not factoring in the NY attendance number (bc of Beckham) or the KC number (bc they always suck for a number of reasons) here is how the MLS attendance looked this weeked:
20,178 21,639 18,913 19,501 Those are very solid numbers, and hopefully the league can build on them. I think the attendance is actually pretty good, and you can't expect a rise of more than maybe 4k-5k total for the league. The money is going to need to start coming in from TV contracts, so they need to build a fan base that will sit down and watch the games at home. |

Actually, I'm surprised that teams are getting 18,000 - 20,000. I never thought they attracted that many to the park. |
