I think arod is the 1st half mvp by his numbers, but i think the old saying goes u have 2 be on a winning team to be considered an mvp and i think that factors here. alot of experts have magglio as the 1st half mvp in the al jus cuz hes on a winning team.

I'd say a-rod is a longshot to win MVP, unless Yanks somehow miraculously make the playoffs. A-rod has a much better chance to continue his first half pace into the second half than Ordonez or others do, but even if he is head and shoulders above everyone else in offensive categories the writers won't give it to him. They will once again engage in a semantical debate about value, and give it someone else, which will make them feel important and overcome their low self esteem.
