I knew this couldn't end well when I saw "Sam's Town Tunica" in the thread title. I hate that place. I can't believe they would have the audacity to charge $200 for one of their crappy rooms in their crappy casino.

I got stuck their my first trip to Tunica for the World Poker Open. It was the only place left the Gold Strike had blocks of rooms left and I refuse to ever go back.

I did end up getting the poker rate of $35. But in the furure I'll stay at The gold Strike for $50 and it's not even close.

I'd say 5 hours play to get the rate is fair. I usually play for 10-12 hours. I just wasn't in a good poker mood and that's not their fault. But I'll say it again, their room sucked.

I haven't been to Tunica in several months. I've stayed at Sam's Town a few times, mainly because when I decide to go, its the only place with rooms available on a short notice.

I've always called the poker room ahead of time and only paid the poker rate upfront...have they changed their policy and making you pay the full price upfront? Or did you not have a reservation?

I did have a reservation and I don't know if they've changed their policy.

I do know that once you get to know some people you get special deals, like I do at The Gold Strike. I can accept the fact that I don't get the special deals at ST because I usually only go there for a tourney every once and a while.

Like I've said many times in the past I get treated very good at The GS I only went to ST and stayed there cause I was playin in a tourney and wanted my wife to be able to come and go to the room whenever.
