What to do about list cutters
At the casino I play at there is often only 1 table at the game I play and the list can get extremely long especially on the weekends.
You can call ahead to get on the list so that's not too big a deal with planning but many regulars have an "understanding" with the floor and just take the first available seat. This has created a huge problem of cutting out the new players (fish) who give up on waiting. The game used to be extremely lucrative but it has gotten to the point where you rarely see a new face outside of the 15 or so regulars even though you often see 50 names on the weekends. I also believe the staff sometimes deliberately keeps it down to 1 table just to keep the tips comming. Is this a common problem at other casinos? The top dogs don't seem to be in on it since I saw one kick a player off the table before and threatened suspension to the floorman but they are rarely around. I don't want to be the narc so any ideas on the best course of action? |

Re: What to do about list cutters
Explain your concerns to management and if they don't listen, play somewhere else.

Re: What to do about list cutters
Scream at the top of your lungs unless that will get you barred and there isn't another poker room nearby. Otherwise, be the 'narc' as you put it and speak to upper management.
Anyway, it sounds like a 2 cent operation you're dealing with. Where is this? |

Re: What to do about list cutters
Well of course there's my "generic universal solution" which has not failed me yet - kick 'em in the nuts.
Or you could try this: have a buddy who's not known to the staff sign up, then keep a low profile in the room. When the line jumpers try to pass 'em up, it's time to throw a friggin' hissy fit. Make sure the big bosses get involved, don't let it get smoothed over by the brush who's letting the local schmuck skip line. Al |

Get used to it
Casinos and Poker Rooms always cater to their "loyal" clientele. Getting bumped up the list (sometimes for a $20) is just a perk you'll have to either tolerate or go elsewhere.

Re: Get used to it
Is it an electronic board or on paper/dry erase? You could sign up and then ask how many people ahead of you. Then after the number of people seated exceed the number they told you, ask what the F is going on. They really can't be Richards to you since they are the ones bending you over.
