Laak is such a douche. I feel so sorry for the dealers when he plays. I assume he gets thrown out of the casino for the [censored] he pulls on tv.

[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, that next-to-last hand was just flat out dealer abuse. Reason #142 to hate that moron.

I can't believe no one has discussed Hellmuth's butchering his A2 hand. Why the hell didn't he just raise on the flop instead of calling $7k with bottom pair? He's trying to trap? Blah, blah, blah. That's his shtick every PAD and if he seriously thinks that's the way to win this format then he's the stupidest 11 time WSOP bracelet winner ever. What card was he really hoping to see on the turn except the obvious ones?

I was happy to hear Shawn get on the producers after they forced the dealer to wait so long to deal the turn on the last hand.

Could someone tell me what happened in this hand?

The NBC website won't show this clip "in my area".

NM. They're showing the clip in the director's cut.

The call for his last 11K chips of Hellmuth was pretty bad also

Antonio told him he had a medium pair before he called

So Hellmuth called anyway knowing his A4 was a big underdog

He could have just fold and wait he had still enough chips for a few hands
and shove it with a better than medium hand and in a better spot

Exactly. Sheiky's making the same bet on every card except an ace. It's not like Phil's calling if a King peels off.

Notice how Laak actually seemed to talk like a human being the interviews Saturday night. "Surfing the matrixes (sic) of probabilities..." This puts in stark relief all his moronic poor-mouth tactics/antics during play, showing how disingenuous his entire public persona is.

Pretending to be stupid isn't funny or clever, especially if you're not that funny or clever to begin with.

hellmuth definitely played that hand badly. what was he thinking, that he was trapping with bottom pair? if he had such a sick read he should have just shoved it in to protect his hand. what turn card does he want to see? then to top it all off, phil was picking his tighty whiteys out of his ass and telling shana how unlucky he got when sheiky put all his money in as a 5-1 underdog. 5-1. right. that's why you're the all time bracelet leader, philly willy.

Before being so hard on Phil Laak's antics, you should at least consider that he and much of the table had been drinking quite a bit. Hellmuth brand energy drink plus vodka. Most people become very irritating when drunk. Laak isn't normally that over the top, and he's genuinely funny and quick witted. I'd rather watch him than the stone faced tight lipped pros.
