All joking aside, if the US ever had a top world-class Striker, they'd make the WC 1/4 and Semis fairly regularly.

Hell, they should have in 2002 when they completely outplayed Germany and even Beckenbauer said the US should have won 3-1 in the quarters, but 2 goals just missed and one was 'accidentally' hand-balled at the line. If they ever had a Rooney or a Henry or a Romario the US would be scary.
