Re: Explain this...
If you can't tell, I'm asking why KQ would be favored in a 3-way.

Re: Explain this...
I hold the 77, automatically increasing everyone else's odds of sucking out.

[/ QUOTE ] When it's AJ vs. KQ, the Ace wins a lot. But, when there's already a pair in the mix, that gets mostly taken away: AJ advantages: Ace-high will win the pot if the board pairs twice b/n 8 & Jack and there's no 7 underneath (rare) When the higher card each pairs (Ace in AJ, K in KQ), and there's no 7 or KQ straight, then AJ>KQ. When both AJ & KQ make two-pair and there's no board straight or 7 on the board, AJ>KQ. (rare) KQ advantages KQ makes more straights than AJ. When the lower card in each pairs and there's no 7 on the board, KQ>AJ (straight on board KQ wins anyhow). Conclusion: KQ straight ability > (AJ's Ace-high value + two pair value) |
