Money all day long. Bracelet don't mean [censored]. I'd rather be the richest poker player than the most bracelet winner anytime of the day.

Winning bracelets opens the doors for lucrative endorsement deals. I figure that if you win like 25 bracelets, you could pick up a like a 200k/yr deal. So, it sort of goes hand in hand if you think about it.

I'm reminded of the quote from Doyle Brunson, from a WSOP a couple of years ago, who remarked to a fellow bragging about a bracelet he had won in some minor NLH event:

"Son, you and about 30 other people won one of those this year."

I believe the whole concept of "I'd rather have a title than the money" in poker is a misapplied parroting of what professional athletes say when asked this question.

Let's face it, in the NFL each year there's only one Super Bowl. In this year's WSOP, there were 50+ bracelet events. Bracelets, IMO, are devalued merely by their abundance.

The Main Event bracelet is a slightly different case because it does represent the "trophy" for the mythic "World Championship of Poker". However, if this forum is any indication, winning the ME (at least recently) doesn't earn you any more respect in the poker community at large.

Money is really the only true gauge of long-term success in poker. Like strength or speed in pro sports, either you have it or you don't; if you don't, you can't play. Simple as that, really.

Only bracelet I'd really care about is the ME bracelet. It's all about the money otherwise.
