200 NL ... pocket 9\'s, the hardest hand to play
Villain is solid, almost didnt want to call his raise preflop OOP.
i played this hand pretty horribly, river push is to fold bigger pairs. do most of you check/fold flop, or bet/fold flop, or c/c, or b/f Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (5 handed) pokerhand.org hand converter SB ($208.55) Hero ($177.45) UTG ($71.80) MP ($272.15) Button ($226.70) Preflop: Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $1. 1 fold, MP calls $2, Button raises to $11.07, 1 fold, Hero calls $9.07, MP folds. Flop: ($25.14) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets $15, Button raises to $30, Hero calls $15. Turn: ($85.14) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, Button checks. River: ($85.14) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero is ALL-IN $136.38 NOTE: i know this is pretty bad with exception of river, but havent played in 4 months at this level cuz of school and was 4-tabling at the time |

Re: 200 NL ... pocket 9\'s, the hardest hand to play
What's wrong with how you played it? If villain is solid, you can't expect him to have a straight, and a minraise on the flop is unlikely with just a flushdraw. I put him on an overpair.

Absolutely, especially if you're capable of your river play when a scare falls. I'd call and count any straight card as an "out," and would put pressue on any sign of weakness if a flush card falls. Which is pretty much what you did. I like the line. |

HMMM you doyle brunson'd the river. If you know he wont call without a straight or a flush, your play is good and he will fold A LOT.

[/ QUOTE ] yes, the river play is fine not too worried since i think he never checks a flush behind on the turn. however, if he cant call the river woudlnt that mean im behind on the flop and shoudl fold? |
