Re: First hand at a table: did I miss value bets?

[ QUOTE ] Depending on Villan's reaction to your flop play, you can probably fold the turn, given that you're calling to about 1.5 outs. [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] why the long face? |

why the long face? [/ QUOTE ] Given that Hero posted pf and is thus cosidered weak, players on this level overplays trips all the time (at least they did at 6max .25/.5), because they can't read hands at all and viallain is unknown, I think folding is pretty ugly. |

[/ QUOTE ] One, EVERYBODY posts in nanos when they sit down, and I seriously doubt that anybody even notices much less draws any conclusions. Two, unknowns 3bomb pf with Ax where x < J after a cold-caller at .02/.04? Maybe, but I'm doubtful, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is a pp or something. My point is, find out on the flop if he's got an ace or better. If he does have the ace it's better than ours. Finally, folding is nowhere near as ugly as the triple-donk/call. |

Sans reads, I think this is a good spot for WA/WB. Just c/c every street. If he has a looser 3betting range, then c/r the flop or turn.

[/ QUOTE ] People actually think that posting in MP is weak? WTF? Who the hell is going to wait 5 minutes to save 2 cents? IMO triple donk/call >> check/call >> folding in this spot. I think I'm ahead often enough that it's worth 2 bets a street but I don't think that far enough ahead enough to 3 bet and face a likely cap. People are 3 betting and capping preflop with mediocre hands at .02/.04 because they like to gamble. |

The game is the same at 0.02/0.04 and 200/400 You will be a loser in the blinds no matter what, you'll lose money posting. It's not profitable if you want to play winning poker, that is maximizing your EV. Most probably your time is much more valuable than those fractions of BB thrown away, but it's not +EV poker, which is what we strive for. |

"People actually think that posting in MP is weak? WTF? Who the hell is going to wait 5 minutes to save 2 cents?"
I am not playing that well that I can afford to lose any fraction of BB/100 if I don't have to, so I'll wait. Blinds are negative carry I want to minimise. |
