Default Re-installing XP - Error

I have a serious problem, which seems ridiculous...

I need to boot from CD-ROM, so I have changed the BIOS settings to make this my #1 boot source.

So now when I boot the computer up, I get the message "Press any key to boot from CD...."

Here I am frantically pressing keys, I have tried all the F1-F12 and all letters etc. I literally can't press any key at this point. So from here on it boots normally and I cannot boot from CD, in order to re-install XP.

Any ideas?

Are you using a PS/2 keyboard or is it USB? Thats the only thing off the top of my head I could think of.

Try using a PS/2 keyboard, this should solve the problem.

Yeah, I don't think the USB keyboard is getting loaded up quickly enough. Reason why I asked. PS/2 Keyboard will def get loaded.

Didn't you get a convert from USB-to-PS/2-connector when you bought your mouse?

My mouse is just USB I believe. Wireless thingy goes straight into the USB port.

Guess I can't do anything about re-installing XP then.

There has to be a PS2 port in back of PC. Run to Walmart or whatever 24-7 department store you have and spend $10 on the crappiest keyboard they have.
Out of curiosity, how well do wireless keyboards work? I've only ever used a wireless mouse, and then it was on a laptop.

They work well.

What difference does it make if you used the mouse on a laptop or a desktop? lol
