AK - i float a paired board and turn Top Pair
villain plays weird poker. he runs at 23/12 but he's the type that just raises because he feels like rasising at that moment, and doesnt neccessarily raise the top 12/% of his range. for exaple he has showndown hands where he raised Q9o UTG and JTs in MP, but has aslo limped like 99 and Ax on the button.
he hasnt gotten out of line at all post flop, but may be a little weak/stationy i was playing tighter than normal, like 20/16, but i had been 3 betting like crazy teh past 3-4 orbits. i was also being floaty/aggro post flop. i actually hadnt folded many flops at all when i had pos Poker Stars, $0.50/$1 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 5 Players LegoPoker Hand History Converter UTG: $290.30 Hero (CO): $174.45 BTN: $173.75 SB: $23.55 BB: $201.55 Pre-Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K dealt to Hero (CO) UTG raises to $4, Hero calls $4, 3 folds 3 betting is probably more +EV and obv my standard line, but i think calling is good once in a while. especially vs a guy who may get attached to TP pair right? Flop: ($9.50) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T T (2 Players) UTG bets $6, Hero calls $6 standard float, this flop misses most of his range right? Turn: ($21.50) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) UTG bets $10, Hero raises to $25, UTG calls $15 maybe the most questionable street... raise or call better? is the sizing ok? River: ($71.50) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) UTG checks, Hero bets $35 hows this look? |

Re: AK - i float a paired board and turn Top Pair
The turn raise: I like a raise here, because he likely doesn't have a third barrel in him if he is betting with air here. He also is going to be hard pressed to put you on AK here, and might call you down with PP as low as 77. Interesting that he calls...I put him on a medium PP?
River: I like the bet here. He is unlikely to be checking a better hand here, and might pay off with some trash, like medium PPs. He might hold KQ-KJ? However, my guess is that he is not calling this river bet. (I'd still make the bet though, I can't see him just calling your turn raise with a better hand) |

Re: AK - i float a paired board and turn Top Pair
You are all about the risky preflop plays these days, eh dude?
If the button squeezes are you 4-betting? I think you can call on the button maybe, but I wouldnt like to let the button call with marginal hands... but w/e Im sure you know all this. I think there is a good chance he has a King here that is scared of a ten because I dont see him calling turn w 99, JJ, QQ.... he could also have 9J or 7J. Basically if You make it $30 on the flop the pot is 81 you can bet $45 no worries and the hand plays the same... I dunno, I'm trying to get better at bet sizing so that my value bets can be as large as possible whilst still giving my opponents good pot odds (which I think is what its all about) |

[/ QUOTE ] haha ya, i've been posting quite a few hands where a PF 3 bet is definitely standard but i just call. maybe i shouldnt be mixing it up so much. i wouldnt have 4 bet if button had squeezed. i was too deep to shove, and 4 betting with AK OOP in a huge pot wasnt my idea of fun, because i would have to ch/f any flop i miss. also my hand would have been extremely disquised and faired very well against his range. |

Re: AK - i float a paired board and turn Top Pair
Preflop I think is fine once in a while, for the reasons you mentioned.
Flop call is fine imo, and I like the turn raise. Both from your description of villain as being a little stationy, and also there are now numerous draws which he may have. I might raise a little more though. Also might bet a little more on the river, but only a few $ more. nh imo |

More on turn. More on river. [/ QUOTE ] pretty simple stuff. when your line looks like air, their calling frequency shoots up. when that happens, you ought to be dropping bombs yo |
