This is like AK always

I admit that I just moved up from 50NL last week, but I've seen this at least 10 times since I arrived in SSNL and it has been a hand that beat 2nd pair only once.

Wow, nice table selection I guess.

Honestly, calling is probably about break-even over time. The problem is how thin you are drawing when you are behind.

Hero has invested $3 into this pot with a marginal hands. Hero has to pay $65.50 to find out if his hand is good. Pot size is $7.50 - for all those who call can you see why this is wrong?

[/ QUOTE ]

Explain why the pot size is $7.50. I count $73.

Then explain why the [censored] the fact that "so far you've invested $3" is relevant. Equity is equity, and sunk costs don't matter. You'd make a poor economist. Both monetarily and qualitatively.

How is that a problem?

I call and 5 times out of ten he's drawing to 2 outs, and I have a 2 out redraw. Then 4 more times he's drawing to 7-9 outs.

I think that makes up for the one time that I am drawing to 2-3 outs.

Oh, and WTF does "nice table selection" mean.

How often do you see someone at a bad table (i.e. table full of good players) do this?

You're pretending that most players who think rationally shove $65 into $7.50 all the time, and he must have practiced "good table selection" to find the few donks who IRRATIONALLY shove $65 into $7.50. What...the...[censored]...?

Once again bilbo wins this thread. I actually doctored the HH a little because I snap-called in the real hand...but it got me thinking about wtf I would have done w/ AQ/AJ in this spot.

this is an instacall. I've seen uberfish take this line so often after a scare card hits.
eg min 3bet preflop w AA then massively overbet the flop (preflop: i have the nuts i need to trap him hohoho; postflop: uh oh)
minraise set on a 2 flush board then overbet when the flush hits
the horse has long since left the stable little fishies

Were you born a d-bag, or do you work at it? Just wondering.

This is a draw a whole bunch of the time we aren't crushed. Do the math, idiot.

Meanwhile, I am real sick of you.

Plonk.
