Because giving free cards on dry boards isnt all that bad controls pot size and allows you to get value from marginal hands on the river.

he can totally be calling here with 88, 99, T9, or even like 66 or 56s, so saying you have no showdown value is just silly IMO

villan wouldnt ever call mult. streets with something like 99 here?

i would probably c/c turn most times. as played, not really a huge fan. i guess you can push him off a T sometimes, but meh.

Yeah I shouldn't have said "zero". I guess what I was implying is that his range for calling flop/turn leans more towards Tx type hands than 99/88...but yeah I'm sure he's calling down w/ those a good % of the time as well. When I got to the river, I just couldn't decide if I wanted to bet for some thin value or turn my hand into a bluff given that I can easily be 2-barreling AK here.
