I'd play it the same. You're beating a bluff and that's about it. You might bet the turn to charge a flush draw, which is unlikely for villain to have, but you're already behind trips and the straight and just split with a weaker king, so I don't see much value in putting in any more money here.

On a side note (I am usually playing FR) - Is your hand a usual raising hand UTG with 4 players? And would you consider his proposed Q6 a reasonable calling hand in that situation (just curious)?

Any hints appreciated.

Standard.

Dont mind raising or folding pre flop given only 4 players. If it was 6 handed i'd happily raise it in the cut off.

fold K8s pf, with shorty on button and in blinds.

edit: also, leave the table, unless you are good at playing against shorties, which from your pf play indicates you are not (not to sound harsh).

dero,

i'd love to hear further thoughts on this. villain's short, but not so short that we're both showing down Qx and better without regard to any cards that fall.

given the "you're bad at playing agaist shorties" comment, I'd assume you found a glaring error postflop that I'd love to get filled in on. If the comment is based on the preflop play, then I disagree for now.

also, if I'm not good at playing shorties then I'll never get good at it by always leaving. This is the early part of my nl journey.

thx!

No reason to bet the turn, he has never flushdraw since he called the flop unless its AsTs or Qsxs. Only AJ and JT could make it on the turn and call another bet.

On river you beat only a bluff and he cant get there with air since every possible draw somewhat hit on turn. So obviously an easy fold.
