Stars 200NL AA hand
Didn't have HUD running so bear with me:
I've been playing pretty aggressively as usual, but have not shown down many hands, and the ones that I have have been decent. Have won quite a few pots recently without showdown. Villain has been pretty quiet but I believe he is ready to play back somewhat light. I'm just going on a timing tell which is; each time I have opened the pot preflop, villain has taken longer and longer to fold. I think he's getting fed up but I'm obv not sure at all. Anyway, on flop I had decided to call the re-raise and get it in on most turns. I think the river is the most interesting street though, bet or check? Thoughts on all streets appreciated obv. Re: Stars 200NL AA hand
He probably has air or an 8, so I check. Seems weak but I just don't see what hands are calling a VB that you beat. Plus if you got c/r'd and couldn't show down this hand I think baby Jesus would cry.

Re: Stars 200NL AA hand
I think i'd check behind. 77 or 99 is possible (I would think TT+ would reraise button open preflop). I could see him c/rai on riv after filling up and thinking you were slowplaying nut flush on turn. I think he wants you to bet here, so check.

Re: Stars 200NL AA hand
I guess a smallish river bet could get value from 99-kk (vilain seems scared by the top card pairing..?), but being c-raised would be pretty nasty and I want a showdown. I just check behind here.

Re: Stars 200NL AA hand
just check, I have even seen the flush check behind here. Sometimes you will miss value by not beting but for most part he might c/c or c/r with alot of hands that smash you.

Btw, villain is pretty tight, so I'm not sure how many suited spade hands he's showing up with here, esp as I have the Ac [/ QUOTE ] Well, along the same lines then, how many 8x hands do you expect him to come up with here? He's probably got something like JJ/QQ a fair % then. Also, does he really check a boat on the river? |

Re: Stars 200NL AA hand
I'm really not worried about trip eights, though I'm really not sure what I'm worried about. Just seemed like an awkward spot.

Re: Stars 200NL AA hand
judging from the action of the hand, and the fact that he's pretty tight, his river check seems like a scared check to me and that your call of his big turn bet froze him...also, tight players aren't usually creative enough to c/r the river with monsters.

Re: Stars 200NL AA hand
Any reason why you didn't re-raise his flop raise?
