Default How many misplays per 1000 hands?

If you are winning player who can do some in-depth analysis it is not hard to figure out hands you have misplayed. For example, this is a hand from a recent 1000 hand session.

I think it is a pretty gross misplay. Considering that 5/ptbb amounts to only one buyin per 1000 hands there isn't much room for making gross plays. I think it is a good idea that an advanced player (one who can detect mistakes) score their session by counting the number of misplayed hands instead of focusing on the money won/lost. (Misplayed hands is pretty broad so you may want to divide it in categories by the degree if grossness).

What do you guys think is the acceptable number of misplays /1000 for a winning 5/ptbb MSNL player? What about HSNL?

Hard to put non-arbitrary numbers on it. Of course one big hand can ruin a session. But sometimes you make a mistake, lose hand and fail to realize that your chance of success was maybe 30-40%. What I mean is a hand can be -EV or it can be massively -EV. For example 4b pushing AK against certain TAGs could be a mistake but not a huge one.

I don't play long sessions and get a bit annoyed if I make one clear mistake in a big pot per session. Most people can at least justify any play they make though so if you are looking at blantant errors that are hugely -EV then you are often just looking at tilty moves. In terms of "general" bad plays, without it having to be a big hand and including missed value bets for example, then we all make loads I guess.

It's possible just to have the wrong mindset, like being too passive and just not in the mood for a battle, and play badly (compared to the norm) for a whole session. In that case your expected gain is likely to be way less than normal, but there may not be any obvious bad errors as such.

A misplay where you get AI too light or whatever doesnt have an EV of -1 buyin though, if that was the point you were trying to make.

I don`t think the hand quoted is not a gross misplay at all.

I usually quit my session when I realize I am continuously misplaying hands.
