Default Two hotties

I keep getting the feeling I'm getting outplayed when I check and fold after showing strength early in the hand. Maybe they really have hands who knows...

Well, if you believe that's the case, then you should c/r more so that your checkers don't mean as much.

Yeah, I think the second one is better than the first.

On the first one, Villain has a new reason to be scared (that king on the river) and might still be a little worried about that T on the turn. So I'm not sure that donking wouldn't be better than checking the river, but a checkraise one street earlier is probably better still.

On the second one, it sucks if Villain just has some weak king or something, but I'm thinking this screwplay should work a good deal of the time.

what was the logic in hand one? did you figure you could get more bets out of him on the river if you just cc the turn with your straight? dont think thats a very good plan.

hand 2 looks good to bet all the way. unless you have some kind of read on villain indicating that he would bet weaks stuff if checked to, in which case you could go for a cr on turn or river.

Word, I'd consider betting the turn too in the A9 hand.

i'd rather let him bet the perfect card if he had air. you know, the whole, "damn he called my flop raise." <turn falls> "oh i HAVE to bet this card."

In hand 1, I figured on the turn that I didn't want to blow him out of the water. What I should have realized at the time was that villain was representing a pretty strong hand here, like two pair. If he was strong enough to raise the flop and bet that turn, he was strong enough to call a check/raise and a river bet. My hand is pretty well hidden, so he won't be folding to a c/r all that often, even with a one pair hand (well, maybe that's pushing it).

The way I played it was to get the max out of weaker hands that would fold to a check/raise on the turn, but not on the river (to get a wtf call or to allow him to improve to a two pair or trips hand that might even 3bet the river). I think it was a pretty fancy play that wound up working out for me but was misguided. Usually I would c/r this turn, but I thought I'd try something different. Now I realize that it was the wrong idea.
