By the way, ESPN, I know you let Phil H. rant because you think the people are fascinated by it. I'll admit it's entertaining for 1/2 a second, but beyond that, I'm fast-forwarding through it. He isn't as interesting as you think.

How in the heck does Phil Ivey do it? Again, he was the best player in the room without being at the table. Absolutely the best part of the show. I don't really enjoy Hellmuth's antics, but I greatly enjoy Norman Chad making fun of Hellmuth for over an hour straight. This table just needed a few baby-faced internet players for Chad to ridicule as well.

Best hand of the broadcast by far was the first one.

Hellmuth is short stack with 123k, 10 handed, blinds 10/20/3a
Phil in HJ opens with K6o to 50k
BTN shoves.
Phil folds getting > 3.3:1 and holds on to the remaining 73k.

Then talks about how internet players won't understand why the play is correct and says 'see how right I was to fold the K' when he gets deals AA like the next hand.
He's better than the math obv, just like the roulette players, they don't need the math on their side, they've figured the game out, they have a system, they can't lose!!!
And this man is like the all-time leader in bracelets, cashes and FTs. So sick, live poker is such a joke.

On an unrelated topic.

I was thinking about this during the AA v AA v KK hand.
Beth at one point takes her cards off the table and jumps around with them like the dumb-as-a-post-toolbox that she is. My question is for the B&M regulars, is there a rule about taking your cards off/away from the table? I wouldn't know, I've never heard of one but it only stands to reason that there would be I think.

This question actually originally occurred to me when I was watching last year's WSOP and at point Hachem (who has a very, very annoying case of OMGIRUNSOBADITIS) gets AA says something like "I have the rockets!" and flips them up through the air at which point on falls off the table IIRC.

It just seems to me like there would be a rule that something like this can get your hand declared dead and just wondering if that's the case?

Stop talking as if you even know how to calculate pot odds, let alone do simple addition. I played you on the party poker cruise and you didnt lay down t7 os to my four bet all in for 2k extra in a 10-20 game. You most probably would have called all in with your kings at the river if both helmuth and the chick had shown u their aces.

And LOL at you having to make the call with 74 os. Anyway people like me should be grateful for people like you because otherwise we wouldnt be so far to the right of Hernstein and Murray's bell curve.

So i am not going to flame you anymore.... donk

I was thinking the same thing when watching. I was really shocked at the antics in that hand (by both her and Hellmuth) and her taking the cards off the table was the kicker.

And BTW, for those saying that Hellmuth would/should have been PO'd if the KK folds because Shak was telegraphing her hand so bad...IMO it's just the opposite. Hellmuth was telegraphing his hand as much as she was but I think Hellmuth actually wanted KK to fold since the pot was so huge and KK had already bet most of Hellmuth's stack. Shak was the one that get's almost all of the extra chips that KK puts in the pot.

Many tourneys have a rule that cards that fall off the table are dead and you receive a penalty but in later stages of tourneys - especially big money ones - no one is going to give anyone any heat for that.

I'll give Hellmuth his props for being a successful tourney player but some of his late game strategy is seriously strange. I really feel like he just wants to move up a few places so he gets more ESPN time so he can cash in on his notoriety via his poker site and advertisements. His antics with Ivey seem to back that up. (BTW, how good is Phil Ivey's life when he makes $109k just by sitting in the audience?)

Something the kid next to him said a little later made me laugh. (Paraphrasing) he made a comment after Hellmuth layed down another hand and kept stroking himself for still being alive, he said "you've done all that but you still only have 200k in chips."

It wasn't out of line. I don't get why Norm was carrying on about that. She made herself look like a noob but she can dance and sing all she wants.

I think there is also typically a rule that you can't kill your own hand after you are all-in in a tournament, in order to prevent collusion.
