So, was anything settled in that goofy thread or what?

I was looking around in PT, and over my last 80k hands I have only 17 players in my DB with a VPIP of over 40 with over 200 hands played. (wow how sad is that?). Of these 17 fish, only 1 had an AF <1.0 (lol how said is that too btw?). Over these few hundred hands, he made one postflop raise, which was on the river when he made his flush. Probably meaningless over such a small sample, but w/e.

Good post, I use the pokerace stat aggression frequency instead of the pokertracker stat aggression factor on my hud. I believe aggression frequency is (times bet flop + times raise flop) / total opportunities to act.

Am I correct about this?

This is exactly why it is so useful to display agg frequency. Because agg frequency includes folds, you don't have OP's problem (that you get with factor) of trying to discount how wide villain's postflop range is, based on his VPIP.

In fact displaying both factor and frequency side by side can instantly give you good info on how a villain plays if the agg frequency is surprisingly high given his agg factor, or vice-versa.

For instance, a villain with:

1) a high factor relative to frequency, loves to take bet/ fold lines. So you have more fold equity versus these guys; or

2) a high agg freq relative to agg factor is probably an aggro showdown guy, who first instinct is bet/ call.

There is another good reason for displaying agg freq, which is that it converges considerably quicker v unknowns.

You need to get used to the fact that frequency but not factor is displayed as a %. To convert freq into a number (like factor), use

freq/ (1 - freq).
