Re: I totally out of character play against 2+2er in Shooting Star
@ any rate, vs. locutus, I think 3-betting flop or calling/donking turn looks weakest. When you call and check turn, it looks like you have a monster or you're playing for pot control, which is not a good range for him to put you on no matter what his holding is.

Re: I totally out of character play against 2+2er in Shooting Star
Why is everyone considering AA such a fat part of locutus range? I may not know him as well as the rest of you but does he really only call with AA BTF especially with a laggy image? Is it nth level thinking in which case it's not working on any of you.
I wouldn't do it but the best way to get the most money is call, donk bet turn by putting a large stack infront of your cards to count out a bet, push the smaller bet foward and hope someone objects and calls the entire stack the bet. You then argue hard against it. Just kidding but it's something I saw recently on the U.S.P.C. and they did say the bet line didn't play at this tournament. |

The point is that he's not going to be putting another chip in after this action unless he has at least AK.

Anything weaker than AK is not putting another chip in: it's not calling bets and it's not making bets so we are only concerned with getting value from the AK+ part of his range. |

Re: I totally out of character play against 2+2er in Shooting Star
I just looked over the link you provided, registrar. That is a different spot. A couple differences: Zee's OOP and his hand is more vulnerable and you make it quite easy on the opponent by trying to c/c down and vs. good opponents, this may very well be -EV. When you c/r, you give your opponent a tough decision w/ QQ+, protect vs. overcards, and presumably, have an easy decision if villain 3-bets the flop.

Re: I totally out of character play against 2+2er in Shooting Star
I know it's different. My point, which may not be a good one, is that villain is perhaps the kind to find out where he's at/slow villain down by raising AA/AK on the flop. The thing is, for both players, all of the rest of their range that is not AK+ is shutting down at some point.
