Default Canterbury: Cash games during FPC?

A friend and I are thinking about making a trip up to canterbury this week but see that the Fall Poker Classic is in full swing. Are the cash games still running? Is it worth going (fewer games, longer lines?) or should we just wait until the FPC is done?

Thanks in advance.

Cash games were a short wait if you are willing to play 6/12, 8/16, and 15/30. The blue chip lists looked very long.

I'd arrive in the first or so after a tourney starts or wait until 4 hours after. There seems to be a lot of traffic to the cash tables durings hour 1-3 of the tourneys.

20/40 O8 seems to be a great success thus far.

In my experience the games get a little better during the Classic. 8/16, especially.

Forget about playing any blue chip game Fri or Sat night. Unless you don't mind waiting. 3 tables @ 2/4 & 3/6 with 35+ waiting. 3-4 tables 4/8 20+ waiting. 6/12^ goes pretty fast. Games have been mixed. A lot of red bird players slumming the 6/12 & 8/16.
TI is closer for you. danspartan is right on the timing of when to arrive.

They've had one $20/40 and two $10/20 O/8 games basically every day. The action has ranged from crappy to very good in each. For LHE, they've had 2-3 $30/60 games, 4-5 $15/30 games, and lots of $8/16 games, I think six yesterday. The wait lists are pretty long for the smaller limit games, but a friend who plays $3/6 got seated within about half an hour on Sunday in spite of that. $6/12 stud/8 has gone a few times and $30/60 stud/8 has gone twice.

What is the 8/16 game playing like this week?
I can't imagine it being any more loose/aggressive than it normally is but maybe so with all the NL players in town.
Anyone played in these so far this week?

The action has been better than usual in the $8/16 games this week, in my opinion. You have like six of them to choose from, so there should be no problem finding a game to your liking.

I got there around 2pm today and signed up for 3/6 thru 15/30 (the front desk was so crowded I just used the kiosk).

There were 3 dead spreads with no games. The blue chip lists were 20+ long and the yellows 10 or so.

So obviously they were focused on having tables ready to open bigger games once the tourney players started to bust out ($400 buy-in today?).

Lots of gripes about it.

It worked out OK, I got on an 8/16 table after about 20 mins and then 15/30 10 mins after that. Got on the must move just before it was converted to a main game. Lots of out of towners so it wasn't as strong as a typical CP game.
