How many times would you have hit a set if you hadn't folded the PP? Regardless: Sample size too small, you're not as good as you think, work on your game by responding to hands, google variance.

It probably is partially due to variance because if you are even a mediocre player (i.e. don't play 75+% of hand preflop) at PS .02/.04 you are +EV. But your pocket pair example makes me wonder if you are considering the big picture. The % of time PPs don't turn into sets in 1600 hands is pretty minor. What's your VP$P? AF? PFR? over those 1600 hands.

Have you read and re-read SSHE? Do you review your sessions? It sounds like you are doing all of this, so keep plugging along I predict a +BB/100 stat for Nov.

edit: oh, and move up to where they respect your raises

-1.35BB/100 in 1600 hands is:

1 decent pot away from break even

2 decent pots or 1 good 0.02/0.04 pot away from +1.35BB/100

, you'll beat the game in no time if you can just figure out some basics. My guess is that you are playing to tight or to loose and you are not valuebetting at all.

i'm pretty sure i'd need to smoke a lot *more* weed if i was gonna go get a sheepskin from a junior high school. among other things, high is baked right into the name!

(alternate joke: That's what I love about these junior high school boys, man. I get older, they stay the same age.)

Among other things, like cracking sarcastic jokes and berating posters, this forum can also be used for motivation and moral support. Thanks to those who provided some of the latter. (Don't get me wrong though, I appreciate the sarcasm also, that can provide its own amount of motivation).

You'll get the hang of it. People just dont care very much for posts like the OP that does not contribute in any way and are just whiny.
