I'm not going to even bother after the top 3:

1. LSU
2. tOSU
3. Cal

Does USF really deserve to be #4 ranked if Kansas, Missouri and Arizona State are going to be ~ 10 - 20?

Pretty good job by the AP this week. Hawaii at #16 is obviously a mistake, and Missouri and Kansas should be a little higher, but other than that, they did well.

Im a big Boston College homer but when you review the season they are horribly overranked, anything in the top 10 is being generous to them. Sure, they are undefeated but they haven't played anyone of note in 3 weeks, 20 point win over Army at home, 10 point win over 1AA UMass at home and 30 points over Bowling Green, meanwhile the powerhouses of the SEC are facing each other. Even BC's "big" ACC wins have been undermined, Wake Forest is 3-2 and aren't anything great, NC State (1-5)is terrible and GTech (3-3) was hugely overrated when BC beat them.

I think Matt Ryan is great and they are undefeated so its easy to put them in the top7 but realistically given their resume I think they are probably #15.

Yes, because they beat Auburn and West Virginia. Who have the other ones beaten? You did notice who everyone has played, right?

Ohio State gets no respect it seems. Anyone who has seen their defense play should rank them ahead of Cal.

Purdue was undefeated with one of the best offenses int he country, and they were completely stuffed by OSU.

I'm really hoping for an LSU/OSU title game as it will be one of the best defensive games in recent memory.

[/ QUOTE ]

Who the hell has tOSU played. After this week, none of the teams they've beaten will be ranked. Meanwhile Cal has beaten a very good Oregon team on the road and killed UT who just killed Georgia.

Who has Purdue played:

Wow. @ Toledo, E Illinois, C Michigan, @ Minnesota, N Dame. Damn. Sick good. Wonder why tOSU was able to stop them.

LSU won because they converted 5 fourth downs and because they won the turnover battle. Florida had more yards per rush and more yards per pass. "Outplayed" might be a little strong, but they definitely gave a very good showing in the Bayou, and it's enough that you'd almost expect them to win a rematch at a neutral site after their young team has another 2 months to gel. If I were an LSU fan, I'd be rooting hard for South Carolina when they play the Gators.

[/ QUOTE ]

Umm, the turnover battle had little to do w/ the outcome of the game actually, both scored once on turnovers. Flo had one more turnover.

And the YPC and YPP aren't what you think they are:

YPC: FLO- 4.9 LSU- 4.8
YPP: FLO- 6.1 LSU- 6.1

So no, Flo didn't avg. more per play than LSU and even if they did it is trivial b/c LSU controlled the clock. The team that has the ball for 11 more minutes even though avg'ing the same yards per play is going to win.

I said they gave a good showing but you would be crazy to expect them to win a rematch on a neutral field.
