Matchbook Commission Questions

I never have faith that answers given by betting companies support reps are necessarily correct, so I figured I'd ask here after having read the website and not finding exactly what I was looking for.

At matchbook is it 2% commission paid on wins
Nothing is paid on losses
Does not matter if you offered the bet or accept an existing offer - the commission is the same.

Is this info correct?

Do alot of you guys use it? Is it good with withdrawls? Do you get better lines that at books?

I am hesistant since it is peer to peer, so clearly bookies and others may have better information than us, but I feel that against the average bettor there should be some value.

95% of these lines are not set by some random dope. They basically have bookmaker "props" who seed all the games and directly rip the line off pinny or wherever else.


Just treat matchbook as any other book and use it when you are looking for the best price on when you want to bet something and you'll be fine. It's only a mental thing that exchanges are any different from a sportsbook.

There is something I dont understand and I cant find an answer at their site. Can anyone please explain for me?

Ok, for starters it says they take 2% from wins as their commission. That I can follow.

Here iswhat I am not sure about.

Here is the current line from their site.
Tennessee +2.5 -110
Denver -2.5 +109

If you bet $110 on Tenn and lose - does the bettor on Den get:
a)the $110 you bet - 2%.
b)the $100 he bet - 2%
c) the $109 shown as the line - 2%

I assume he gets the $109 - so does Matchbook take the $1 difference between the lines (-110 vs +109), as well as the 2% of $109.

Do I have it right?

No. (a) is closest. When you see -110 on Tennessee, that's because he put an order in for +110 on Denver, so a -110 on Tennessee would "match" it, he's putting up $100 at +110 for you putting up $110 at -110. So he put up $100 to win your $110, so he pays 2% of $110. He has nothing to do with the 109 line.

Matchbook does not make any money in the difference between the lines. If the Denver bettor bet $100 in your example to win $109. He gets to keep $106.82 of his winnings.
