5CD: where to sit at this table?
real table from this morning. which seat should hero prefer?
i make paint "maniac" is super aggro, but doesnt seem to lose much, if any, from what i've played with him. perhaps he would be better described as a LAG. he never limps, but opens with a wide range, including draws and mid pairs (even from UTG). likely a solid winner SH HE who f's around at draw. a difficult opponent, but i can definately get the best of it with him. "supa-fish" is so awesome. he's the reason i want to be here. my player notes on him actually include the phrases "dream opponent" & "does EVERYTHING wrong" i [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] this guy. chronically limping, shorts, very passive, calling station, etc. has deep pockets too "rock" is pretty decent, i guess, dont really have enough hands on him to have a great dossier on his post-draw play...shoudl be a non-issue as we will be involved in so few pots together. "unknown" is just that. never seen him before. assume he's loose-passive. supa-fish lite. so where do we want to sit? A,B,C or D? |

Re: 5CD: where to sit at this table?
"A" would be OK for loosie, but you have the rock behind you, and it would be best to have him act before you.
You don't want the rock on your left so "B" is out. You don't want the maniac on your left so "C" is out. I'd sit at "D." This puts loosie in a spot to call you, gives you the best position to isolate the maniac, and lets you avoid the rock. |

D is best...behind rock and maniac.

I agree! You want to suck money from the fish and stay outta the way of the rock. You can always just cold call with maniac if you have to. D

Re: 5CD: where to sit at this table?
Seat B.
You want to the chance to play against the fish and the unknown fish,(if he was good you probably would have seen him by now). It is better to force the rock off lots of hands and fold to his 3-bet when you are light. The LAG is not in such a great spot but the fish take preference since they are in most hands. D. |

If stacks are equal, choose B. You want to sit to the left of the biggest concentration of dead money.

Re: 5CD: where to sit at this table?
Why don't you want the rock on your left? We all want everyone always on our right. But the rock is the least threatening in this bunch. You can three-bet and isolate against the maniac so having him on your left ain't so bad either. This is especially true if he is raising UTG far too often while you are in the small-blind.
Seat B is best. The money on your right is nearly always best. |

I'd probably go for B, to the immediate left of the worst player.
