Default Vegas shows...Recommendations and Suggestions?

So, 6 of us are heading to Vegas June 1-10 (we have a vacation house rented) and we'll be playing a ton of poker, but still want to check out a couple of shows while there. In fact, the night we fly in, 4 of us are hitting The Killers concert w/ Louis XIV at the Hard Rock.

Well my gf is coming with me, and we, along with the other 2p2ers that are coming with want to a catch a show or two while there.

Now, with that being said, what's the best "must see" show or shows in Vegas? We really want to go to one of the 5 Cirque shows while there ("O", KA, Mystere, LOVE, or Zumanity), so which is best?

Aside from Cirque, what other show or shows are just fantastic and worth the price of admission. It can be from Celine Dion (hey, for her, not me...but OMG those are some PRICY tix!), to a comedy show. Open for just about anything...

Also, I'm all for suggestions as to how to get the tix cheaper than face as well... Seriously, I'm all for hints here.

TIA fellow 2p2'ers!

I've seen O, KA, & Zumanity. KA was the best. O was 2nd. Zumanity was OK.

My friends & I had fun at the wax museum in the Venetian. It's hand's on, so it's a lot more fun than your normal wax museum. Go after a few drinks, and take crazy pictures with the stars.

I heard that the Prince tickets are really absurdly priced mostly standing-only -- and he may make a 30-minute appearance during the concert.

Cirque - Zumanity is generally considered the lesser of the Cirque de Soleil shows. Of the others, you will find people who think O, Ka, or Love are the best, but since you are conscious of price, you might want to stick with Mystere. It's a very good show and the cheapest ticket of the bunch.

You can often find discounts on shows (1) in flyers handed out in cabs and in kiosks on the Strip (2) handed out in the casinos (3) in discount books handed out by the casino when you check in or join their players' club

Blue Man Group is a popular (and a lot of fun), but if you live in Boston, NYC, or Chicago, it's cheaper to see them there, and it's much the same show.

For good cheap entertainment, I'll suggest the Mac King comedy magic show at Harrah's. It's an afternoon show, the tickets are cheap (and you can find 2 for 1 deals and such just by poking around Harrah's) and he's good.

O & Ka are both visually stunning. I liked Ka better because I could somewhat follow the non-English story-line (does "O" even have a story-line? I'm not sure). I saw Ka first, so that may make me biased, too.

The advice on Cirque in here is pretty good - O and Ka are generally the favorites, but Mystere is a good option at a lower price.

I saw Lance Burton at Monte Carlo, that was pretty cool, my Dad got the tickets on a whim I don't know how much they were.

Blue Man Group is awesome. It's mostly the same show you will find elsewhere, but I had already seen it in New York when I saw it at Luxor and I still enjoyed it immensely the second time.

The Celine Dion show is supposed to be visually amazing, and most people enjoy it even if they don't like her music.

I took the GF to the Blue Man Group at the Venetian. We both thought it was awesome. I cant comment on the show in other cities, but the one in Vegas was a great time.

Ka is good.

If Jay Leno is in town at the Mirage, see him. It's the only show ticket I've ever bought where I really felt I got my moneys worth. I'm not a Leno fan either, but he was really awesome.

Spamalot - perfect mix of comedy and B'way, nobody leaves that threater not liking it, and you dont have to be a fan of Monty Python to get the jokes.

LOVE - My favorite Circ show by far. Its very different from the others, the music and the production blow me away. The suropund sound speakers are in your chair - very cool!

The cheepest ticket in town however is a ride out to Red Rock to go hiking on the desert rocks. IMHO there isnt a tourist attraction on the strip that comes close to the memories you will have out there. Of course it will be hot, so plan on going early in the morning.

Penn & Teller!
I haven't seen their show (but will in June) Everything else they do rocks, so I assume the show does as well.

Ka or O - can't go wrong. Buy tickets ASAP online. Buzz on Spamalot is good. Tickets for your dates are now on sale. (Ours are in late July.) I've seen Celine - it is a chick thing. For more of a typical lounge act comedian, Rita Rudner is very Vegas, very funny, and is very reasonable, and at Harrah's now.

There may also be some hidden surprises in smaller venues. I just got back from a weekend at the MGM and we had no idea that a band as big as Chicago would be playing in a room as small as the Hollywood Theatre in the MGM. Got tickets, it rocked. More and more good music acts are passing through LV so a little research might find you something. For example, be sure to check the House of Blues LV calendar.

Ticket deals on these? Dream on. Settle for getting good seats to good shows.
