I want to tell myself this guy was a b0t that malfunctioned so as not to get too discouraged with humanity.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Button ($400)

BB ($389.90)
UTG ($388)
MP ($441.50)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls $4, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($12) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $8</font>, BB folds, UTG calls $8.

Turn: ($28) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $18</font>, UTG calls $18.

River: ($64) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, UTG checks.

Final Pot: $64

Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF">
Hero has 8s 8h (two pair, eights and sixes).
UTG has 6h 6d (four of a kind, sixes).
Outcome: UTG wins $64. </font>

Perhaps he was worried you would fold to any bet and then he wouldn't be able to show off his quads?

Usually people check here because if they bet you might fold and they won't be able to show their ZOMG quads!!!1 because they don't know how to switch off auto-muck.
