Default Wii: Problems with 480p

Anyone else run into problems using the component cables and trying to run 480p? My TV supports 480p, I am using the Nintendo component cables, and when I select 480p in the Wii settings and exit to the menu the screen goes black and I get a "No signal" message from my tv. Every 10 seconds or so the wii menu pops up and disappears again. Problem is fixed by switching back to 480i.

Is it on AV:1? Hit the AV button on the remote and go down and select AV:1

Let me know.

Even though your TV supports 480p that doesn't mean the input you are using supports it. My Samsung DLP (720p native) has a couple component inputs that *only* support 480p or higher (480i does not work), and a couple that *only* support 480i. Hook up a 480p or higher to the 480i input and you see "No Signal." Same goes for hooking up a 480i to the 480p+ inputs.

Double check that your TV does not have similar restrictions on the input you are attempting to use. Switch to a different input if so.
