Yes, 3 people you are 1) less worried about giving a free card, 2) more likely to be able to c/r.

I think the 1/2 pot idea is very interesting. If you frequently bet other than pot, this would be a good spot for it. (I only bet less than pot on the river, so probably wouldn't apply for me)

I frequently bet less than full pot (with good and marginal hands) because I find that most players will fold to 1/2 - 3/4 pot almost the same amount of time they fold to full pot (I think Ribbo talks about this in his video)... why risk more chips than are necessary to get the same effect?

After considering further, I think here that I agree with my original line of just betting out pot and shoving to any re-raise.
