Default Getting on a plane (ID expired)

I have a flight coming up and my only photo ID is expired for like 3 years. I lost my current one and have applied for a new one but I don't think it is going to come in time for my flight. Is this a huge problem. Thanks.

If I were one I could get a fake ID pretty easily I'm sure. They don't even scan them at the airport.

Oh shut up. the only real answer is OP is a lazy scumbag who doesn't even deserve to be an American without properly having his identification updated for 3 years and will probably die childless loner and never having passed his genes on.

They probably won't even notice. They didn't on mine. Did you call the airlines and ask them?

My license expired during a business trip once. They let me fly home but I got the full anal probe terrorist treatment first.

A friend of mine lost her driver's license before a flight. They let her board with only her photo student ID. This was post-911; however, her dad is a Delta pilot. Every airport has a different attitude on security, call them before you go. Even if they say no though, it's probably worth a try.

Going to Hawaii last Nov, my mother forgot her driver's license and left it at home (yeah, I know). At the airport both ways, they just did a more thorough inspection of her luggage and personal belongings, and all was well. YMMV.
