Default Is this a ridiculously zero play?

Early in the session. No reads on villain. Seems pretty donkish.

Full Tilt Poker, $0.05/$0.10 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter

UTG: $5.95
MP: $4.85
CO: $5
BTN: $2.95
Hero (SB): $11.20
BB: $2.65

CO posts $0.10
Pre-Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (SB)
2 folds, CO checks, BTN calls $0.10, <font color="red">Hero raises to $0.50</font>, BB calls $0.40, 2 folds

Flop: ($1.20) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets $0.50</font>, BB calls $0.50

Turn: ($2.20) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks, BB checks

River: ($2.20) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets $2.20</font>, BB calls $1.65 and is All-In

Results: $5.50 Pot ($5.50 Rake)
Hero showed A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (a straight, Ace high) and LOST (-$2.65 NET)
BB mucked and LOST (-$2.65 NET)

Was that a bad bet on the river? I know it worked out but if I make that same bet against a better player, I am only getting called by a better hand. I can't imagine what he could have stacked off with that doesn't at least chop with broadway, but that's off-topic. That can't be a profitable bet in the long run, can it? Any thoughts?

Your read was that villain is a donk, donks stack off lightly.

he is so short.. i doesnt matter what u have.. if you hit the flop in ANY way, you stick with your hand.

basically you decided to go with your hand when you bet the flop. After betting the flop you just can't fold it anymore.

just bet more on the flop and shove the turn...he's too short to do anything else.
