If you had a flush draw as well as a straight draw then I would HU sometimes, but otherwise not OOP. If you get called and a brick comes on the turn lessening the equity of an already weak straight draw and bottom pair, then you will be in a bad spot with a bloated pot.

The pot isnt bloated much, and there is a flushdraw there. And you are have 140bb effective stacks.
Still both the defensive line and the agressive is good. Doing the aggressive is esp good if he raise alot of hands, and always poting them. The check-call is good if he is a non believer and gonna pay you off. Mixing it up here is good [censored]. And yeah sometimes valuebet river, you will not get him to bluff, but you will sometimes get calls from overpairs and other weak made hands that think you have missed. - B

It's not mandatory, you should know you have to mix up your play in this kind of spot a lot. I agree bet the river, if you think he won't pay off with worse hands you are not playing aggressive enough.

[/ QUOTE ] making thin value bets is not a problem i have as a convert from HU NLHE and LHE, it's cost me a lot of money ridding myself of this in PLO.

i think a very interesting line is bet/call. and then on the turn what cards do you guys bet? we can bet cards that make the straight, flush cards, board pairing cards, and rags. i think it's a pretty interesting question.

The problem is you can't bet all the scare cards (obv you can but > 1/3 will have hit them) and you're OOP, but sometimes showing this amount of strength you can fold out a few hands that have you dominated/beaten right now. With the aggressive line you should be leading again if any blanks come on the turn, maybe convince him to fold his high flush draw/similar straight draw/high pairs. If the turn brings a straight obv bet out, but with the flush and board pairing it is very opponent-specific.
