Default Buying Laptop w/o OS

So I know that its near impossible to get a laptop without an OS preinstalled. I've heard of some people getting Dell to refund them the cost of the OS based on not accepting the EULA agreement or whatever.

Does anyone know of any semi reliable way to get a really nice laptop without any software preinstalled?

Thanks!
Mark

Talk to Dell, they are getting ready to offer computers with Ubuntu which is one step up from no OS based on cost of the OS. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't pass the savings on to the customer.

Power Notebooks sells laptops with no OS. In fact, that's the standard option.

They get really high ratings at resellerratings.com , so I wouldn't be worried at all about ordering from them.

Hrm, I just configured something as close as I could to the Dell I'm looking at, and without the OS the Sager at Power Notebooks was $2350 vs the Dell at $1900.

Just emailed them to see if I'm missing something or what makes up the price difference. Here are the specs on both if anyone cares to comment:

I did call them and they gave me the run around and basically told me I couldn't get it without and OS or with any type of Linux installed. (Even though I know some people have been able to get refunds from them)
