my thinking here was that if i was first to act here, i'd make a ~60% probe bet, so i did that after his small bet of $100. the other two calls were just because of pot odds, but i feel like i played it wrong. let me know. thanks.

I'd fold flop a lot but if I put more chips in I'm just calling. raising is beyond terrible but you should understand why.

so the probe bet idea goes out the window when the BB defends his blind and then makes a minimum bet?

I call here and try to get to a showdown as cheaply as possible. Against any large bets you should be dropping the hand to conserve your stack. Raising is bad here, if you get called or shoved over you are in very bad spots.

i think folding the flop might be a leak at $3.40. i'm sure it's right at the higher levels, but this guy could easily have an 8 or even just two hearts. they play anything

yeah, raising felt bad, i was just trying to incorporate a probe bet when acting second, but i guess that's silly. i'll just call and try to see it through cheaply from now on. if i get raised big, i'll fold. thanks for everyone's help.

I'd probably raise to more like 250 here preflop. The lower the level the more I'm raising preflop. This is a tough spot, and calling down or folding to his weak bet seem to have similar merit.

They don't bluff or fold. Hence fold on flop, if he checks to you or you are first to act make a bet of 300 but at these limits A4 is the nuts. Or if you want to play it fast come over the top all-in on the turn when he agian makes the weak lead.

But I like folding the best here. BTW from reading the HH I put him on A10.

Nice if you had AK/AQ. This is how you will stack these guys with their weaker Aces. Raising the flop is bad. Call small bets for cheap showdown. You have second pair.
