Loose Passive Game

SB is a bad loose passive Indian regular. He bets the flop with medium strength hands and waits till the turn or river with strong ones. Also he isn't the kind to donk when he hasn't improved. That is to say, when he gets there, he bets rather than c/r.

UTG+1 is a bad tight passive old man. That said, he'll sometimes raise the flop with draws.

Hero has a bad image if people are watching. He's played a couple hands badly (although no one notices in this game), and hasn't won a hand all night. Also he's under the age of 30 so regulars probably think he's a LAG.

Two limps (including UTG+1). Hero Picks up 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in MP and raises. Two cold calls. Both Blinds call. All call.

Flop: 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

SB bets. UTG+1 raises. Folds to Hero who 3bangs. Folds to SB who calls. UTG+1 calls.

Turn: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

SB bets. UTG+1 calls. Hero wants to fold but calls.

River 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

SB bets. UTG+1 calls. Hero folds.

The SB's donk could easily be two diamonds with the 8d. It really depends on how passive UTG+1 is here (would he really not cap flop or raise turn with a 6) Once the River comes a diamond with a bettor and caller, I agree with the fold.
I actually like a Turn raise and fold to any more action.
If the river bricks fire again if checked to.

This was my thought as well. It's tough to put SB on a hand when he donks the turn - the only things that make sense are 88 or something like 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. The old guy might have 2 diamonds, or he might have something like 77 (or TT if that passive). I don't think we can fold, so we might as well raise now since at least one of these guys should have a flush draw (and it's an easy fold to a 3-bet). If the river bricks I'd probably fire again, and check behind if it's a scary card.

As played, I'm pretty mixed on the river. It looks like you are beat, but you are getting 16:1 and closing the action, and the old man ought to have raised with a flush, unless he's sophisticated enough to go for an overcall since he fears a possible boat from SB. I'd probably call (and expect to lose), but it's close.

If I'm counting the pot right if JJH gets his turn raise 3-bet there will be 18-19 big bets in the pot when it is back to him. If both players are still hanging around he probably shouldn't have any problem getting two bets each out of them on the river when he gets a nine. I couldn't fold to a 3-bet.

concur. raise gives you some fold equity on turn

Whoops. Just looked back at this. I meant two red nines. I actually only remember that I had the 9 of hearts and was making the other suit up. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
