Hitting on Famous People

alright, so my cousin is getting married this X-mas, and I've been told that there is a very good chance that a famous female singer/songwriter will be there.

First, I'd rather not say who, but this woman is not going to be on any Maxim top 100 lists, However I think she's very hot, and when you factor in her music she is awesome (I'm a sucker for female vocalists singing about how much they love me...).

What is the best strategy for hitting on her? I need to do this, even getting shot down will result in a great story, and I rarely see this side of my family tree, so if they think I'm a whore it really does not bother me.

I don't want to be like "omg I love your music, I'm your biggest fan" because I'm not a 12 year old girl (no, seriously I'm not...).

I was thinking about pretending I didn't know who she was...she is not uber famous, so this might work (it's possible for someone to not recognize her), I might stand out by not being like "omg you're famous!"

she does write some of her own songs, so I was thinking about talking seriously about how her music is powerful and speaks to me (it does, it's awesome), but I feel like this could be a slippery slope, because there is a good chance she has a very clear idea of what she was trying to say, and I don't want to contradict her message.

does anyone have any experience hitting on (or even dealing with them in general) famous people?
which approach should I take?

if anyone's advice pays off then I will seriously give you money/respect/first born/a kidney.

on a serious note, i think your best bet would be to ignore anything about her music, fame, or that whole bit. treat her like you would treat any other chick you like.
