3k so you have a pot sizes bet left in your stack.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why so much? You are pot committing yourself to a push from behind.

I think the idea is to get this calling station to give up the worst possible price for his likelyness to call with a wide range that falls behind 88.

3K sounds pretty good. Pushing is probably fine too since the antes on Dise are fairly big. I actually kind of like pushing but letting him see a flop for a good price like 3K that he's probably going to miss might be better. Of course if his JT hits you're going to be mad but it might be more +EV. I think I prefer pushing though just try to take it without a fight, and he might call with smaller pairs if he's that bad.

I decided just to shove on him. He can fold his J7s, but guys like him don't fold any pair or any A to a pre-flop all in. He called with 55 :-)

I actually think raising and leaving a PSB behind might be helping him, as it lets him c/f when he misses and stack me when he hits. It's not quite that simple, of course, but you see where I'm going.

I think I lose too much value limping behind, since I don't get to isolate him. I felt my shove lacked style and was hoping someone could give me some kind of fancy play, but the sledgehammer worked out well this time.

Yeah, and when i read your description, it made me think of this.

To assume a player would be terrible because he's losse-passive preflop isn't always a clear assessment. In this case, sure, it is. But not in every case. Some players do employ this successfully enough because their strength is in their post-flop play. Mind you, this is a rare enough creature, especially online, that it's easy to pigeonhole habitual limpers. Some do it for a reason.

hell yea foucalt, i was just about to ask if anyone else just shoves it.

.. cause i do.

edit:

meh, double checked stacks and it's a bit bigger than i thoguht, but i think shove is still good, but maybe too many people left to act, 3k might be better here. But if we had a little less i think it's a clearer push.

I just shove this pretty much all the time against the Villain you describe. He incorrectly folds his J9s a lot and incorrectly calls his 33 a lot.
