Hard plastic packaging

I recently saw a news show about this. There is actually a cottage industry that is emerging for exactly your problem – well, all of our problem. Electric scissors is basically the solution. Companies are selling tons of ‘em. Marketing them for this purpose. I haven’t seen any yet and didn’t really catch much of the TV piece, but I am sure they are around. Worse case I am sure a sure a sewing store has them. They have been around for years for that use.

while these things suck, it is false that they are getting increasingly popular. i believe walmart even said it was going to stop carrying items with these casings. scizzors and carefulness is the way to go here.

The right earbud was blown out so I returned it today. The BestBuy kid handled the return no problem and I asked him if he had an exacto knife to open the replacement so I could listen before leaving the store. He obliged and just about lost 3 fingers and had a hernia trying the partial cut and finger-pry technique. He eventually sliced open the entire edge of the plastic. The whole process took about 8 minutes.
