Default Social Security-a problem for the future?

http://www.socialsecurity.org/

Here are some jaw-droppers.
[ QUOTE ]
A medium income worker born after 1965 can expect a rate-of-return of less than 2% on his or her Social Security taxes.

Source: Actuarial Note 2004.5, Social Security Administration Office of the Chief Actuary, Table 3.

[/ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Nearly two-thirds of those under 30 years old don't think Social Security will be able to pay them any benefit when they stop working. Fifty-seven percent of people 30 to 49 years old agree.

[/ QUOTE ]

Seems like a major problem, especially for a lot of younger people. Discuss.

At 23, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to see a dime of that money come back to me. I get to see how my social security taxes get spent when I go to the showboat and watch some retiree put a few more chips on lucky number seven.

There's not much to discuss. Social Security is the biggest scam of all time. Literally. It is the biggest financial scam in the history of the world.
