40-80 oceans 11
utg raises, from my read he is really tight in early position, folds to me. I have AQ in big blind. flop K 7 7, i check and villain checks behind. turn 3, i check and he checks behind again. im thinking about trying to value bet A hi if aother under comes. river is a K for a final board of K 7 7 3 K, so no point to bet A hi i check he bets. no brain fold or call???

What is the villain's name, I'm pretty sure I know who it is and I'm pretty sure he just gave you 2 free cards with 88 or something.

Re: 40-80 oceans 11
Yeah I thought it was Danny. As hard as it is to believe your hand is not good here. Like it's not out of the question that he'll have AJs/AQ here but that is probably going to happen less than 5%. You're going to be seeing 88/99 most the time and some hilarious TT-QQ in there as well.

garland, i hope you're joking about folding preflop. [/ QUOTE ] Depends on how OP defines "really tight". If it means AA, KK, QQ, AK and maybe JJ and maybe AQ, then yeah, fold pre-flop. No kidding. However, given how passively villain played his hand, it's now more borderline, but you still don't really want to go against the majority of premiums listed above OOP. Garland |

Re: 40-80 oceans 11
"Really tight" UTG certainly means fold preflop to me. You're going to be out of position and it's going to be hard to get value unless you flop the world.
Anyway, I think you should fire the turn and call the river. For some reason these people in California are way more likely to fold the turn after checking behind on the flop as the preflop raiser. |

Re: 40-80 oceans 11
Villain's range for raising pf utg is 88+/AJo+/KQo. I believe he limps ATs/KJs but he might raise them on occassion, same goes for 77.

Re: 40-80 oceans 11
That's good enough for a call then probably. I also don't think that's "really tight" but live I'm sure it seems like it.
