It's pretty much been decided that we will release a Mac version. I'll be ordering my first Mac in nearly 15 years here pretty soon. It likely won't be available until after the initial PC release, but hopefully it won't be too much longer after that.

Does the same program run on both platforms, or will I have to download a mac version and a pc version?

With PT2, one license covered two PT on two different computers. Assuming different version of PT3 (mac and windows requiring separate downloads), will one license cover PT3 on one computer (dual boot) in both windows and OSX plus PT3 on another computer (for backup purposes for example).

Finally, what mac are you going to order?

Currently it's being developed on a PC (that's all I have). It will run on both. Naturally, there will be separate downloads, but right now the plan is to continue the 1 license = 2 computers thing (a dual boot machine counts as 2 computers).

As for what I'm going to order, I have not researched it yet. Any suggestions?

if you already got monitors and keyboards and the like and are just using it for PT3 development, then a mini is cheap and easy.

Imacs are great for working and if you want to let your kids bang on it, watch movies, handle itunes (I run remote speakers throughout my house wirelessly through itunes, it is fantastic). The way they are designed minimizes wear and tear just to a keyboard and they are protected from kids spilling liquids, etc.

Personally, I can't live without my MacBookPro, but in reality it is way too much computer for me. I am just a sucker.

Macbook Pro or a new iMac.

The Mac mini seems like it is a terrible deal considering how under-powered it is for the price. It's best suited for people who just want to cruise the web and write emails.

Please, keep in mind that you'll want to try and make sure that the software will run on PowerPC macs as well, many of us still have PPC machines, especially those of us who have multiple macs.

If you dont need the portability, go with the iMac. You cant go wrong. I run on a power pc machine as well.
